Established in 1989 Waliz Nuts has been producing the highest quality Australian macadamias out of the picturesque town of Newrybar in the Byron hinterland. The farm’s history goes back to the mid-1980s when the Hudson family bought a small acreage and spent their first summer planting the first 3000 trees.
Owners Paul and Liz have continued to build on the strong reputation of the family business, bringing their own passion and expertise as they raise their four young children on the farm ensuring the legacy of producing the highest quality macadamias continues.
As an independently owned and run macadamia processor we offer the best price and payment terms without compromise on quality service. We encourage new growers to try us out and find out why so many are making the switch to Waliz Nuts. Our team will assist you every step of the way drawing on their years of industry experience. Our Grower Liaison, Pam Young, along with Paul and Liz guarantee you will get the best price for your nuts and are always available to chat.
We are proud to work with Aruma (formally Summerland House Farm) who help us de-husk and sort harvests ensuring it is ready for processing. As a business provider of Australia’s largest disability provider they provide employment for people with a disability in our community and are a backbone to our community.
First discovered in 1857 along Australia’s Queensland coast, macadamias were named in honour of Dr. John Macadam, a colleague of the Australian botanist who made the actual discovery. Australia is the leading producer of macadamia nuts (the only native Australian plant to be developed as a commercial food crop). “Macas” are also grown in large quantities in Hawaii, South Africa, Costa Rica and Guatemala where they thrive in the well-drained soil in temperatures that hover around 25 degrees.
Macadamia nuts are so good they could sell themselves – but we believe we have the right mix of flavour pairings, styles and options to satisfy every customer.
We supply bulk macadamia Nut in Shell and kernel to clients across Australia and ship overseas to Asia, the Americas, the Middle East and Europe.
Our macadamias also find their way on tables at many restaurants in the local area such as Raes at Wategos, Byron At Byron Resort & Spa, Gaia Retreat & Spa, Mez Club, Mi Thai Lennox Head and Brunswick Heads & Suffolk Park Bakery.
We have a range of bulk macadamia nuts to suit any occasion as well as cold pressed macadamia oil and our deliciously versatile macadamia paste.
